Welcome

To our Equality Standard for Sport web site. Its purpose is to provide a first stop shop for any sports organisation working towards the Standard. We will ensure it contains relevant information on the Standard and is kept up to date with the latest news and examples of working practice

The Standard
The first ever equality Standard for sport was launched in November 2004. It is a framework for assisting sports organisations to widen access and reduce inequalities in sport and physical activity from under representative individuals, groups and communities especially women and girls, ethnic minority groups and disabled people. It is based around two broad themes: developing your organisation and developing your services and four levels of achievement: Foundation, Preliminary, Intermediate and Advanced.
