Guidance
Guidance on the content of an equality profiling form that includes preferred
classifications for different impairment groups as well as ethnicity, religion and
sexual orientation
The process for gathering the audit data for board and staff needs to be repeatable
annually.
The systems used to collate and store the data will need future -proofing. When
creating systems you will need to bear in mind that sexual orientation and
religion / belief data will be needed for the Intermediate level.
When reporting on equality profile data organisations need to be mindful to protect
anonymity so individuals cannot be identified.
Equality profiling questionnaires are for self-certification. A better rate of
return to the questionnaires can be facilitated by clear communication that
explains the purpose of the audit, how the resulting evidence is to be used
(continuous improvement) and details of how the anonymity of respondents will be
secured and the data protected.
Equality profiling form used by sportscotland, which recommends that the Scottish
Census categories are used.
Guidance note on data collection that includes information on sampling
Web based sampling tool that assists in proving details on sample sizes.
A 95% confidence factor is required for any sampling. (see Research toolkit below)
