Principle: your organisation is clear about what it needs to do to achieve equality
Developing Your Services
Outcome 1: Partner organisations and new audiences are aware and engaged in the delivery of the action plan.
Requirement
The organisation should promote the action plan to new audiences, whilst informing the consultee organisations.
Essential evidence Added value evidence
Organisations to seek to use key partners (e.g. clubs, local authorties, CSPs, sports councils etc) and equality bodies in their respective home countries to help promote their action plans, which might include press releases or proof of communication . Information to populate relevant websites should be provided.
  • Engagement with a priority group-specific media (sport or non-sport) and equality/equity organisations, including joint articles, press releases and features
  • Organisations can look to set up an external equality/equity advisory or support group that includes appropriately experienced and knowledgeable people. This group can provide invaluable support to the lead equality/equity officer in making recommendations for action to the Board and also provide a conduit for information transfer to and from the group. Where possible, a senior member of staff and the Board Equality/Equity Champion should also be a member of the group.
Guidance
(see toolkit/guidance panel below)
This outcome encourages a wider approach to addressing inequality by asking the organisation to seek support from partner organisations that may have the same or a similar remit and range of objectives.

Promotion through partner organisations -- national and / or regional -- in order to access those priority/target groups to whom services may not have been previously delivered. These might include sports equality bodies, for example, home country disability sport organisations, or non-sporting equality agencies such as equality commissions. It should be noted that in addition to national Equity Partners and organisations there are a number of similar regional ‘set ups’ that can also provide support and become members of a consultation network/focus group.
