VAGA have been commissioned by the Black Country Consortium Limited
to provide support to further develop the Black Country Sports
Partnership Delivery System up to the end of March 2007.
We will be working closely with the Black Country Sports Partnership
directed through the core team.
Community Sports Networks (CSNs) are a key part of the proposed
Delivery for Sport. In our view they are:
- The local ‘arms’ of the County Sports Partnership
- The sporting ‘arms’ of the Local Strategic Partnerships.
Three essential conditions are required to establish successful and
sustainable CSNs:
- Local ownership and drive
- Visible focus and early wins that will attract interest
- Strong and mutually beneficial relationships with the Black Country Sports Partnership.
These conditions will take time to develop. It is important that
solid foundations are put in place during the next three months.
Our approach is designed to ensure all three conditions are in place
by April 2007. Our views on the approach to this work are based
on our experience of working with over 50% of the County Sports
Partnerships (CSPs) in England and with 17 emerging CSNs.
